the WORK

“I am touched by a variety of visual imagery; compelled by art’s capacity to parallel, enhance and impact our individual experiences. I am inspired by feeling. Physical touch, emotional and spiritual experience, memory, nature, color, and texture play heavy roles in my work. I best understand and appreciate the world through my senses, especially through visual and tactile means.
Art should encourage us to become curious about ourselves and the world we live in. I am fueled by the desire to motivate people to think about my images, considering how they can relate personally. I hope the work acts as a compelling bridge, drawing us closer together as a society and species.
The human figure remains my primary interest, holding infinite beauty and potential for the expressive painting I pursue. All centering on the human experience, I aim to highlight and exaggerate the asymmetrical or unique characteristics of the subjects I paint.
Preferring a raw and responsive interpretation, I have worked to portray a bold and honest celebration of personalities, people and truths in my art.”
